The Midwife’s Touch

China Creed was born with a supernatural gift—the ability to conjure up anything and have it come to those that needs it. Amazing as it seems, but in Milksnake, it could lead to her doom if discovered by the villagers. Her father, Parnell Creed was looking forward to a boy who would carry the family name and also help with the farm. He became disappointed when Chad popped out and died soon after, living behind a widow and a young girl to face the consequences of her unintended actions.

All Yvette Creed wanted was for her daughter to live a normal life like every other girl. But the accusations of theft against her innocent child were too much to bear. Would China survive the onslaughts and be able to find love just like Queen of Sheba or even Joan of Arc did? Maybe, the poor midwife who lived in the woods could be of help. They must do something, and fast too.

The Midwife’s Touch is an interesting novel that also touched on the lives of American natives. It also provided an insight about the political and sociocultural activities of 19th century United States.
