John Sampson was a good man, but he had just lost the war alongside other fighters on the Confederate side. He headed West on a long and perilous journey toward the mountains, across swats of lawless countryside. However, things took a nasty turn when he got to Cheyenne Wells and completely changed the course of his journey.

Samson was not only courageous but also has a way with words even in dire situations. The widow had pleaded with him to stay behind and protect her, so also did the town’s old doctor and a dying man’s last wish. However, a toss coin had warned him otherwise. Not continuing on his journey means an inevitable clash against the infamous Rand Calder and his army of cowboys. The stakes are high and would end in a bloody fight as different interest parties try to outwit one another.
The book is loaded with intrigues, suspense and actions. It is so thrilling, with minute details of every action and as such feels like one is watching a blockbuster movie.
