A great pandemic had wiped away eighty percent of the human race. The remnants suddenly found themselves at the mercy of advanced robots. The AI robots now use the survivors as laborers. Adam found the sudden reversal of roles between humans and robots too appalling to bear. When opportunity came for him to escape to Taoland, he was filled with trepidation. What if the situation in Taoland turns out to be worse than what he is facing in Novana?
Characters in the book include Adriella, Rossum, Malaika, Roshi, Tariana, Bogart, Dr. Garvens, Mr. Komourin, and Lorelai etc.
Confrontations with his nemesis, the evil Bogart, as well as dilemma on how to strike a balance between his work and family were other challenges Adam faced. In his adventures and near death experiences, Adam eventually realizes he has a purpose to fulfill in life.
At first glance, Adam in Taoland may seem like a fantasy book, complete with magic and animals that could talk. However, there are lots of lessons that could be learnt from the book, particularly about love, family, and selflessness etc. It also offers some imaginative insight of what the future could be for humanity.
